Doug Kauer started Kauer Guitars in 2008 after spending his entire life working in the family woodshop. His love of guitars and woodworking connected when he started building as a hobby, learning the craft and turning into a full time profession when Doug designed what became the Daylighter, Kauer Guitars signature model. Starting by himself, Doug has grown Kauer Guitars into a international business with 6 dedicated members crafting each instrument.

Lucky to have many wonderful artists on their roster, Doug takes advantage of road proving their guitars to continue to refine the instrument and process for each instrument. Scott Holiday (Rival Sons) or Matt Schofield are among the many artists which use Kauer guitars. Not shy to take advantage of technology to improve the quality of each guitar, the crew at Kauer utilizes multiple CNC machines, UV cured finishes and a newly added Plek machine to make sure each Kauer looks the best, sounds the best and plays the best!
